What happens

Screen Guild Theater presents Liberty Is a Lady, written by Charles Tazewell and starring Loretta Young in six roles. On a foggy night at the New York Harbor, a young girl sits crying on a park bench when a mysterious woman appears and begins to speak with her. The woman tells her that women have shaped American history, and she calls up voices from the fog to show how women have contributed to the nation's past, from early colonial times through the Revolution, the founding of women's colleges, the Civil War, and beyond. Loretta Young plays each of the characters, and the broadcast was originally aired on February 15, 1942.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
