What happens

Walter Pidgeon, Maureen O'Hara, Donald Crisp and Sarah Allgood star in this radio adaptation of How Green Was My Valley, presented on the Screen Guild Theater on March 22, 1942. Huw Morgan recalls his childhood in a Welsh mining valley, where his father, Gwilym, and his mother, Beth, hold their family together. A bitter miners' strike divides the village, and the family's hardships deepen as the mine owners press their advantage. Huw recalls his schooling, his friendship with the minister Mr. Griffith, and the years that followed, as he remembers the valley and the people who shaped his life.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
