What happens
Faye Cheney, a young American woman, has charmed London society, including the handsome Lord Arthur Dilling and his aunt, the Duchess of Ebbly. At an afternoon charity auction at her house, Faye and her butler Charles seem to be up to something, and Lord Arthur and Lord Kelton both pay her attention. Later that night, Faye prepares to take the Duchess's pearls, while Arthur grows suspicious and Charles waits outside. This Screen Guild Theater broadcast of December 9, 1946 is a romantic comedy adapted from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film, starring Joan Fontaine, Alan Marshall, Nigel Bruce and Gerald Moore.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
