What happens

Barnaby, a poor and unlettered traveling juggler, is taken in by a kindly young monk after a cold winter journey through France. He is given lodging at a monastery, where he vows to serve God in whatever humble ways he can. As Christmas approaches, the other brothers prepare grand gifts of books, paintings, carvings, music and song for the chapel, while Barnaby, convinced he has no talent to offer, despairs. The story is told as part of the Screen Guild Theater, a Gulf Oil broadcast, with Ronald Coleman narrating and Nelson Eddy singing the monk's role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
