What happens

Ivy Lexton, a young wife living beyond her means in a shabby London flat with her husband Jarvis, grows entangled with two men: the wealthy publisher Miles Rushworth, who gives Jarvis a job, and Roger Gretterix, a scientist who has long been devoted to her. Tensions rise as Jarvis grows ill and Ivy's friendships are scrutinised. The Screen Guild Theater broadcast of Ivy aired on January 19, 1948, starring Joan Fontaine, Patrick Knowles and John Sutton, and this part of the drama follows Ivy's dealings with the men in her life and the events that surround her husband's illness and an inspector's inquiry.

London, England, in the late 1940s, including the Lextons' flat, a laboratory, and the courts and Scotland Yard.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
