What happens
Paul Lucas and Virginia Bruce star in this 1946 Screen Guild Theater play, a romantic drama adapted from the United Artists picture History Is Made at Night, first broadcast January 14, 1946. In Paris, Irene is alone in her hotel when a stranger named Paul enters, and a tense confrontation with a man sent by her husband leads to an unexpected meeting. Irene and Paul spend the night together at a café, and their romance quickly deepens. The episode follows their relationship as Irene's marriage and the events of that night continue to weigh on them.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
