What happens
Roy Earl, newly released from prison, travels to Los Angeles to see his old friend Big Mac, who arranged his release. Mac offers him a job robbing a wealthy resort town, Tropico Springs, where a jewel haul worth about half a million is expected. At a mountain camp, Roy meets Red Hatchery, Babe Kozak and Marie Garson, a young woman who has fallen in with Babe. Roy grows uneasy about the crew, and Marie pleads to stay with him. The episode is a Screen Guild Theater radio adaptation, broadcast in 1944, of the Warner Bros. film High Sierra, based on W.R. Burnett's story, starring Humphrey Bogart as Roy Earl and Ida Lupino as Marie Garson.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
