What happens

Henry Duvall, a jeweler, is visited by a mysterious woman who buys a two-hundred-thousand-dollar pearl necklace and asks to bring it to the office of Dr. Henderson, a nerve specialist, that evening. Dr. Henderson soon finds that his supposed patient, Mrs. Duvall, has an unusual plan. The episode is part of the Screen Guild Theater series, first broadcast on December 1, 1940, with Marlene Dietrich as Madeline and Fred MacMurray as Tom Bradley. Madeline and her aunt Olga are travelling toward Mexico with the necklace, and Tom Bradley, a motorist, becomes entangled with them along the way.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
