What happens
Gangster Big John Sarto, just released from prison, learns that his old rival Philadelphia Powell has taken over his rackets. Sarto returns to the city to confront him, but after a fall he is taken in by the monks of a quiet monastery, the Little Brothers of the Flowers, and joins them as a novice under the name Brother Orchid. Pat O'Brien stars as Sarto, with Carol Landis as Flo Adams and Donald Crisp as the brother superior. The story is adapted from the screenplay by Charles Thaswell and is heard on the Gulf Screen Guild Theater, hosted by Roger Pryor, broadcast on February 16, 1941.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
