What happens

Cathy Earnshaw and Heathcliff, two children raised together at Wuthering Heights, grow into an intense and troubled bond on the Yorkshire moors. Cathy's brother Hindley resents Heathcliff, a foundling brought home by their father, and their friendship is tested as Cathy is drawn toward the refined world of the Linton family. This adaptation of Emily Bronte's novel is presented on the Screen Director's Playhouse, a weekly NBC program, with Dorothy McGuire as Kathy, James Mason as Heathcliff, and Pamela Colino as Isabella. The original air date was August 9, 1951.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
