What happens

In wartime London in 1917, a dancer named Myra meets a soldier, Captain Roy Cronin, during an air raid on Waterloo Bridge. The two spend a brief evening together before he returns to France, and their romance develops quickly. Myra's friend Kitty and the ballet company around her shape the early events. The Screen Director's Playhouse presents this 1951 adaptation of Robert Sherwood's drama, a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer screenplay, broadcast on NBC, starring Norma Shearer as Myra. The story continues into a second act set in lean times.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
