What happens

Dr. Susan Lane, a psychiatrist, and Michael Kent, a cartoonist who creates the Nixie, meet on a train to Chicago and trade barbs from the start. Their sparring grows more tangled when they end up sharing a berth, and Susan's wary dealings with the sad, self-described Bolivian blonde Laura add to the complications. This Screen Directors Playhouse production, presented by RCA Victor, is an adaptation of the 1950 motion picture with Rosalind Russell in her original role as Dr. Lane, directed by Alexander Hall. The broadcast was first aired on June 2, 1950.

A train bound for Chicago, and later a Chicago apartment and an office, in the 1950s

Characters: Dr. Susan Lane, Michael Kent, Laura, Albert

Listen for: The conductor's and Michael Kent's banter on the train, and Laura's explanation of her troubles with men

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
