What happens
Sergeant Mike Flanagan of the Royal Northwest Mounted Police meets Catherine Mary O'Fallon, a young Bostonian who has just arrived at her uncle John Kennedy's ranch in Canada. Mike is drawn to her spirit, but he hesitates to marry because he knows how harsh life in the North can be for a woman. Their courtship unfolds at the ranch, where Kathy learns to ride and Mike wrestles with his feelings. This is the Screen Director's Playhouse adaptation of the true story Mrs. Mike, starring Joseph Cotton and Evelyn Keys, broadcast on NBC on November 30, 1950. The transcript covers only the first part of the episode, so the story is told up to the couple's early married life at Hendrix Hope.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
