What happens

Fred Flugel, a flea trainer living with his wife Eve and son Homer, inherits what he believes is twelve million dollars from his uncle Trumbull, only to learn the estate is just four antique chairs. Deep in debt to the bookmaker Monty the Gonif, Flugel becomes a murder suspect after his uncle is found poisoned. A phonograph record from the dead man hints that the evidence and three hundred thousand dollars are hidden in one of the chairs, and Flugel sets out to track them down. Fred Allen stars in the title role of this Screen Directors Playhouse broadcast, presented by RCA Victor.

Flugel's home and a series of locations in and around the city, including Finley's auction parlor

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
