What happens

Colonel Anders arrives at the Knotty Pine ranger station to inspect operations, and tells Ranger Bill Jefferson that the governor, a senator and the Secretary of the Interior will visit to see the famous buffalo herd. When Stumpy reports that the whole herd has vanished overnight, Bill and Henry search the range and follow the trail to the Shady River, where the tracks end. Bill must find the herd before the visiting officials arrive on Saturday morning.

Listen for: Stumpy's account of the herd disappearing, and the search along the Shady River

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
