What happens
Ranger Bill Jefferson and Ranger Ed Quarters search the forest for Tom's pet otter, Brightwater, after Tom reports him missing from his tower. Tom has come across several traps set in the woods and believes a trapper has taken the animal. Bill later speaks with Tom about how his attachment to the otter may be crowding out his devotion to God. Meanwhile, Tom is caught in a bear trap, and the trapper ties him up in a cabin. The episode is part of the Ranger Bill radio series, and this guide covers only the first part of the story.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
