What happens
Ranger Bill and his partner Henry come upon a wolf struck on the road and find it is rabid, so they shoot it. Their search for Don Ferguson, a high school runner who had been jogging nearby, leads them to find him treed by a fox that behaves strangely. Bill and Henry shoot the fox as well, and a rabies quarantine is ordered across the valley. Meanwhile, Miss Sims and her pupils at the Beaver Creek School are told to stay indoors, with Don left to guard them until the school bus arrives.
Shady River Valley and the Beaver Creek area, a rural valley with roads, woodland trails and a one-room school.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
