What happens
Ranger Bill leads a canoe trip from camp down a river toward a stretch of rapids, with Pete Florry in charge of the group. Two boys, Ed Winther and Paul Yards, grow restless and take a canoe out alone and head into the swift water toward the rapids. Their canoe is wrecked and they end up stranded on a rock as the river rises. The rest of the group sets out to reach them, and the story follows how they try to get them to safety before a storm breaks over the river.
