What happens

Ranger Bill Jefferson tests a new transistor walkie-talkie with a group of young rangers from Naughty Pine. The rangers split into two groups and hike out on a Saturday to check the sets over distance. A small plane crashes near a hillside, and the rangers search for its passengers. Ranger Bill finds torn cloth near a collapsed cave entrance and suspects the passengers may be trapped inside. The rangers begin digging to reach him and the missing people, and the work proceeds through the night.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
