What happens

Ranger Bill and his partners Stumpy and Gray Wolf investigate a series of forest fires along the Red Valley railroad near Naughty Pine. The rangers suspect the old steam locomotives of freight operator Randolph Thompson are throwing sparks into the dry woods. Bill goes to see Thompson, who refuses to fit spark arresters, so Bill obtains a court order from Judge Deems. The episode is part of the Ranger Bill series, first broadcast on August 11, 1954.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
