What happens

Ranger Bill Jefferson and Henry Scott are at Ranger headquarters in Nauty Pine when Walt Ederly calls, worried that Colonel Anders and Mrs. Anders are overdue from their vacation in San Francisco. Walt grows increasingly agitated, and Bill sends rangers from across the district to search the highways and the deep country. Walt's alarm spreads to Sue Anders, the Colonel's daughter, who demands to be told what is happening. The search follows a trail of conflicting roadside accounts, leading the rangers toward the remote wilderness where the couple may have gone.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
