What happens
Ranger Bill helps a school boys' club after a young member, Ronnie Edwards, brings a bear cub to a meeting as his nature study project. A night watchman, Sam Barnworthy, reports seeing a large bear in town, and damage is found at the Edwards garage. Ranger Bill and club leader Henry Scott work out that the cub's mother is nearby and that the boys are in danger. This episode of Ranger Bill, a radio series, first aired on September 28, 1960. The transcript is only partly reliable, so the story is summarised from its first part.
A dark school corridor and classroom in a small town, and the Edwards family garage, near a wooded area.
Characters: Ranger Bill, Henry Scott, Ronnie Edwards, Sam Barnworthy, Joe, Roddy
Listen for: Ranger Bill's warning to the boys about the mother bear and his plan to free the cub.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
