What happens

Ranger Bill, Henry, Graywolf and Stumpy ride up to Silver River Dam, where their friend Brick Finch is chief engineer. Brick proudly describes the large electric motors he bought at a bargain price, saving the taxpayers about $1,100 each. During a test of the first motor, it runs wild and blows apart, and Brick is shaken by the accident. The rangers hear the story from Brick and offer their observations as the construction continues, while Brick insists the problem was a simple one. Ranger Bill and the others question whether the cheap purchase was a sound decision, and the story continues in the second half of the episode. This episode was broadcast as part of the Ranger Bill series on March 6, 1957.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
