What happens

Ranger Bill Jefferson and his partner Henry return from a funeral for Dad Winters, an old rancher whose ranch is mortgaged to the local bank. Banker Jay asks Bill to help, because Dad's son Lester has refused to let anyone onto the property and has been firing rifles at visitors. Meanwhile, Bill's rangers find a herd of cattle branded with Dad Winters' flying double bar trapped in a canyon. Bill tries to reason with Lester through a portable megaphone, and the story turns on an old tale of money hidden under the floor of the family home. This is an episode of the Ranger Bill radio series, which aired on 1956-02-29.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
