What happens

Ranger Bill and his rangers face a fast-spreading forest fire in the southern part of the state. After a summer lightning storm starts ten blazes in dry forest, Bill flies south with his crew to take charge. Rangers Kurt Douglas, Eugene and Henry work to hold the flames and to reach the isolated towns of Silver Springs and Clay Town, where residents are cut off. Wind shifts threaten the crews, and the men argue about whether a dangerous plan to dynamite the mountain and retreat to a cave is worth the risk. The episode is part of the Ranger Bill radio series, and its air date and cast are not given in the transcript.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
