What happens

Ranger Bill Jefferson and Chief Brown respond to a dangerous gasoline leak in the town of Nadi Pine after an attendant at Nicklaw and Barney Alberts' gas station finds that the storage tanks are short of gas. Fumes have seeped through the storm sewers into the basement of the neighboring bank, and Bill organizes the police, firemen and townspeople to evacuate the area, shut off power, and pump the leaking gas and water out safely. A newspaperman's flash photograph raises a fresh hazard, and Bill then arranges for ventilation equipment to be flown in from San Francisco. The bank's manager, Ed Banker, faces a separate crisis over his depositors' funds. This is the Ranger Bill series, and the broadcast's original air date and cast are not given in the transcript.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
