What happens
Ranger Bill helps Paul Stone and June, who run the Naughty Pine Orphanage, with a difficult child. Jerry Quinn, eight years old, has lived at the orphanage since his parents died and refuses to join the other children in play. Paul asks Bill for advice, and Bill suggests a couple who lost their own son about six months ago. Bill and his friend Gray Wolf bring Jerry along on visits, and the boy warms to them. Jerry's new home with Fred and Ruth Starley is taking shape as the story unfolds, and it tests how each of them adjusts to loss.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
