What happens

Phil Harris and Alice Faye are drawn into a school orchestra after Phil volunteers to conduct the children at a Parent Teachers Association meeting. The rehearsals go badly as Phil argues with the young players over their instruments and his own musical knowledge. Phil and Alice are preparing the children for a concert, and their efforts grow more chaotic as the story progresses. The Phil Harris series aired on NBC, and this episode is from October 21, 1951, featuring Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Elliott Lewis and Gale Gordon.

A school orchestra rehearsal at the Harris home, and a nearby music shop and pawn shop.

Listen for: Phil Harris insisting he can conduct the children's orchestra despite his limited knowledge, and the arguments that follow over the instruments.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
