What happens
Phil Harris decides to write his life story and sets up in a glass-walled office with Elliot Lewis and Gale Gordon. The transcript is a comedy episode of The Phil Harris series, aired on NBC on 1954-03-19 with Phil Harris and Alice Faye as the leads. Curly, as Harris is called, dictates to his partner, and the story turns to scenes from his youth and his courtship of Alice Faye, with the household sometimes interrupted by quarrels and jokes. Each anecdote is told in comic exaggeration, from childhood memories to his early persistence in winning her attention. The transcript stops partway through this section, so the story is not resolved.

Characters: Phil Harris, Elliot Lewis, Alice Faye, Gale Gordon, Julius
Listen for: Harris's dictation of his life story and the comic recollections of his courtship of Alice Faye.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
