What happens

Phil Harris is irritated by his brother-in-law Willie, who has recently been hired at the Rexall drugstore and has begun impressing the company's executives. Worried that Willie is trying to get him removed from his radio show, Phil talks with his friend Frankie Remley, who suggests that the way to impress the company is to invent a new drug. The two men buy a professional chemistry set and begin experimenting at the Harris dining room table. The Phil Harris-Alice Faye show aired on NBC on November 14, 1948, and stars Phil Harris and Alice Faye, with Elliott Lewis and Gale Gordon also in the cast.

The Harris household and a nearby garage, with a trip to a chemistry supply store, on a Sunday in the present day of the broadcast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
