What happens

Phil Harris and Alice Faye face trouble when their radio show's start time moves from four-thirty to five o'clock and the musicians' union refuses to let the band play at the new hour. Phil, still stiff from a back injury he suffered over the summer, must sort out the dispute with sponsor Mr. Scott and the union before the broadcast. Their visits to Mr. Scott and to the union president lead to a series of disputes over membership and fees. The episode is part of The Phil Harris series, which aired on NBC on September 30, 1951, starring Phil Harris and Alice Faye, with Elliott Lewis and Gale Gordon also in the cast.

Los Angeles, at the start of the new radio season, moving between the studio, Mr. Scott's house and the union president's home.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
