What happens

The Harris family spends their last day in Palm Springs, with Phil Harris and his friends Curly, Frankie and Willie in the middle of a wild afternoon. Frankie tells the newspapers that he saw a flying saucer land in the desert and spoke with men from Mars, and the story goes out nationwide. Phil and his friends search the desert for the craft and try to produce some evidence to back up the tale. This is an NBC broadcast from April 2, 1950, starring Phil Harris and Alice Faye, with Elliott Lewis and Gale Gordon also in the cast. The transcript covers only the first part of the episode.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
