What happens
Phil Harris and Alice Faye's home life is the focus as Valentine's Day approaches. Alice hopes Phil will remember the holiday, and the children are enlisted to remind him. Phil seems to have forgotten, yet flowers begin arriving at the house, each card signed 'guess who.' Phil and Frankie Remley, a former band member who recently lost his job, take Alice's flowers as a sign of a rival and set out to find the sender. The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show aired on NBC on February 13, 1949, with Harris and Faye in the leads.
The Harris home and a nearby floral shop, around Valentine's Day.
Characters: Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Frankie Remley, Julius, Curly
Listen for: The increasingly frantic flowers and the 'guess who' cards, and Phil's search for the mystery admirer.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
