What happens

Phil Harris is a happy-go-lucky radio performer whose sponsor, Fitch, has doubts after reading a magazine article about him and his wife, Alice Faye. Company executive Mr. Beam is sent to spend a Sunday with the Harris family to check whether Phil is trustworthy enough to receive company stock. Phil, who is proud of his handiness around the house, tries to repair a stuck closet door, and the visit quickly turns chaotic, with Mr. Beam ending up locked inside the closet. The episode is from the series The Phil Harris, first broadcast on NBC on October 26, 1947, with Phil Harris and Alice Faye in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
