What happens
Homer Lee, a hunchbacked military strategist, joins Chinese revolutionary Dr. Sun Yat-sen to help topple the Manchu throne. The story follows Lee from his student days at Stanford with his friend Juan through his campaign in China, his return to California, and his warnings to America about Japan and the Pacific coast. Lee's secretary, Ethel Powers, works with him on his books, and his ideas draw attention in Europe and London. The Pacific Story is a 1944 episode of the series, first aired on February 13, 1944, and the transcript presents Lee's life through his own words and the reactions of those around him.
Stanford University, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Santa Monica, London, and Germany, from the late 1890s to Lee's death.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
