What happens

The Pacific Story presents a drama of China's New Life Movement in 1934. A farmer named Wang refuses to take part in the government, but his son Lo joins the movement and becomes an organizer. Lo and his colleague Tang help peasants rebuild their villages and teach them the movement's four virtues and daily rules of conduct. Wang grows skeptical as the movement's enforcers overreach in the streets. When smallpox spreads through the countryside, a neighbor named Chen turns to Lo for help, and the farmers must decide whether to trust the vaccine Lo describes.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
