What happens
Miss Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High, is short of chairs for her overcrowded class when twin boys, Mike and Danny, turn up in her classroom saying they want to skip grammar school and become policemen. They refuse to give their last name and tell a story about escaping from an orphanage. Sergeant Gillis is called in to investigate, and Miss Brooks and Mr. Boynton become drawn into the boys' tale. Eve Arden plays Miss Brooks and Gale Gordon plays Mr. Conklin, with the episode broadcast on CBS Radio on May 8, 1955.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
