What happens
Margot Lane and her companion Lamont Cranston, a friend who is secretly the Shadow, look into a strange crime. A gorilla is stolen from a city zoo, and the night watchman and keeper are found shot dead. Lane's acquaintance Big Charlie claims to have learned something about the theft, but she is doubtful of his story. During a visit to a fortune-teller at a lunch spot, Lane is told about a remarkable scientist who offers help with lost things. Her outing soon brings her into the orbit of Professor Fielding and Madame Santo, whose work involves the brain and the gorilla. The story is still unfolding in this part of the episode.
A city zoo at night, a fortune-teller's parlour, and a laboratory belonging to Professor Fielding.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
