What happens
Harry Lime, the third man, tells of Susie, a countess with expensive tastes, who teams up with Harry and a suave colonel named Carl Clouser to steal a diamond necklace that once belonged to Marie Antoinette. Baron Dortmonder, who has won a court case against his divorced wife to recover the family heirloom, keeps the necklace in a safe at his villa. The three plan a theft during a dinner the Baron attends, with Susie drawing him out of the house and Carl keeping the manservant busy while Harry climbs in through an upstairs window. The story is told as part of the Mercury Theatre on the Air series, first broadcast on 1952-05-02, with Orson Welles playing Harry Lime.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
