What happens
On a train crossing the Balkans from Istanbul to Belgrade, Harry Lime, the Third Man, shares a compartment with a talkative Greek passenger, Mr. Stethakopoulos, who boasts of dealing in counterfeit bank notes. Lime listens closely while the man drinks heavily and describes a large forged-currency deal. Later Lime is stopped and questioned as a counterfeiter, and then he finds himself in a new compartment with a mysterious veiled woman. This episode of The Mercury Theatre on the Air originally aired on February 22, 1952, and the lead actor is Orson Welles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
