What happens

Harry Lime, a clever and self-serving schemer, is approached by a shady man named Robinson, who offers him a share of thirty thousand American dollars if he can smuggle the money out of England. Lime agrees and takes on the disguise of an English nobleman, Lord Manchester, to win the confidence of two American tourists, George and Jordan Perkins. Their journey toward the channel crossing becomes tense as Lime, Robinson and the Perkins family move through customs and onto the boat, with a sharp-eyed boy named Ronald watching events closely. The series, The Mercury Theatre on the Air, first aired on 8 February 1952.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
