What happens
Dr. Ronald Corey, a brain surgeon, acquires the living brain of William H. Donovan, a radio announcer, and keeps it alive in his laboratory with his colleague Dr. Frugelheiser. The brain begins to communicate with Corey and to change his behaviour, and his wife Janice grows increasingly alarmed as her husband's mind seems to shift toward the announcer's manner. Corey is pressed to choose between the brain and his marriage, and Janice urges him to destroy it. Orson Welles plays Dr. Corey and Marjorie Reynolds plays Janice in this Mercury Theatre on the Air broadcast, a parody of Donovan's Brain first heard in May 1944. The episode is played for comedy, with the commercials of the Donovan character repeatedly interrupting the drama.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
