What happens
On a Mediterranean cruise ship sailing from Beirut, American schoolteacher Mildred Gideon meets Mr. Haroon, a polished fellow passenger, and is teamed with the brash Frank Grady for a sightseeing tour. Early one morning, after watching the sunrise over the city, Mildred believes she has seen a stumbling American sailor stabbed on the dock, but when the police arrive the body is gone and they doubt her. Later, at the Sultan's Turret, she is alarmed by a mysterious presence on the stairs and finds a slip of paper. Frank Grady and Mr. Haroon both become suspects in her mind as she tries to make sense of what she saw. This is a radio play from the On Stage series, first broadcast on January 8, 1953.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
