What happens

Radio writer Link Ferris, struggling to make his heroine Kitty Farmer seem real, moves in with the Porter family after they take him in as a stranger. Bonnie Porter, a lunch-wagon waitress, and her family, including her inventor father Pop Porter, become the basis for the writers' new serial. The episode, from the Old Gold Comedy Theater series and first broadcast on November 12, 1944, stars Dick Powell, Victor Moore and Rosemary DeCamp. Ferris and his partner Fletcher Marvin are quickly pulled into romantic and family complications as the Porters grow suspicious of the strangers in their home.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
