What happens
Irma and her roommate Jane, sweltering in a New York heat wave, decide to escape to Coney Island with their men, Al and Richard. Richard backs out over a business appointment, and Al's arrival is followed by a quarrel that leaves Irma upset. My Friend Irma is a CBS Radio comedy series, and this episode aired on June 7, 1948, starring Marie Wilson as Irma and Cathy Lewis as Jane. The girls, meanwhile, meet Professor Kropotkin and Mrs. O'Reilly, whose own interactions add to the afternoon's confusion at the crowded beach.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
