What happens
Jane Stacey and her friend Irma Peterson spend a Saturday afternoon in town, and Irma confides her longing to marry her boyfriend Al. Irma seeks Jane's help after hearing about a radio program that awards a furnished home to a lucky couple, and she decides to enter. Her attempts at courtship and cooking shape the story as Al's reluctance about money becomes clear. The episode is from the My Friend Irma series, with the original air date of January 12, 1948 on CBS Radio, and stars Marie Wilson and Cathy Lewis.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
