What happens
Irma and her roommate Jane live together in New York, and Irma's habit of making poor decisions causes trouble. Irma buys a fur coat on Second Avenue for eighty dollars, but the garment looks worthless and sheds everywhere, and Jane insists it must be taken back. The episode is part of the My Friend Irma series, first broadcast on CBS Radio on June 13, 1947, with Marie Wilson as Irma and Cathy Lewis as Jane. Irma and her friends set out to recover the money from the shop, and their efforts bring them to the Better Business Bureau and the trolley lines, where their plans grow ever more complicated.
New York City, in the apartment Irma and Jane share, and around Second Avenue, the Better Business Bureau, and the trolley lines.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
