What happens
Irma Peterson and her roommate Jane try to keep a secret: Richard Rhinelander is travelling to Washington on business to negotiate for war surplus buildings to become a recreation center for underprivileged children. Irma learns of the trip and talks her way into coming along, with Al and Professor Kropotkin tagging after them. Irma is played by Marie Wilson and Jane by Cathy Lewis, in the My Friend Irma series, first broadcast on CBS Radio on March 29, 1948. The early part of the episode focuses on Irma's eagerness to join the trip and the group's arrival in the capital.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
