What happens

Irma Peterson, a scatterbrained secretary, is pressed into a errand by her boss, attorney Milton J. Clyde, who needs a tuxedo picked up before he addresses the Bar Association. Irma's roommate Jane Stacy works at the same firm and has just won a raise, which spurs Irma to seek her own. Irma's boyfriend Al offers poor advice, and the simple errand turns into a tangle of shopping, closed stores and borrowed clothes. The episode is a comedy of misunderstanding in the series My Friend Irma, first broadcast on CBS Radio on March 1, 1948, with Marie Wilson as Irma and Cathy Lewis as Jane.

New York City, in a law office, a tailor's shop, a steam bath at the athletic club and the apartment Irma shares with Jane

Listen for: Irma's attempts to get the tuxedo to Mr. Clyde and the mix-ups that follow

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
