What happens
Jane Stacy, private secretary to investment broker Richard Rhinelander, and her roommate Irma Peterson share an apartment on West 73rd Street and a crowded party line. Richard is away in Nebraska and must phone Jane at seven o'clock with a decision for client Howard Tykeman about buying or selling farm machinery. Irma and Jane try to find a way to get a private line, and their attempts to handle the phone problem keep running into the phone company and the busy line. The episode is from the My Friend Irma series, first broadcast on CBS Radio on March 15, 1948, with Marie Wilson as Irma and Cathy Lewis as Jane.
